Super ED and SR glass
The adoption of high-dispersion SR glass as well as Super ED glass effectively counters chromatic aberration and colour fringing. Skin tones will look natural and colours are faithfully reproduced.

Aspherical lens elements
Two dual-sided aspherical lens elements are included to correct sagittal coma and spherical aberrations. Precision crafted with smoother surfaces, these new elements shape the light beautifully.

Meso Amorphous Coat
Nikon’s high-performance anti-reflective coating eliminates incidental light coming from any direction, giving this full-frame telephoto zoom lens exceptional control over ghosting and flare.

ARNEO and SI coatings

Rounded 11-blade aperture
The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II features an upgraded 11-blade diaphragm. Combined with the new S-Line optical design, you can expect softer-looking bokeh and beautifully rendered point light sources.

Smoother bokeh, natural gradation
The bokeh produced is now so finely graded from the focal plane that you’ll be able to create images with a more natural sense of depth. With subject isolation this good, you may even find yourself composing scenes in entirely new ways.

Sharper up close
Work with a shorter minimum focus distance of 0.38 m at 70mm, and 0.8 m at 200mm. Maximum magnification is 0.25x at 70mm, and 0.3x at 200mm.

Agile handling
Removable tripod collar | Included in the box along with a protective collar. Both feature a bayonet design that allows secure attachment to the lens.
De-clickable control ring | Click on for tactile feedback as you adjust settings in increments. Click off for smooth, silent, stepless operation.
