The Sigma 14 mm F1.8 DG HSM Art lens is put forward as the true high-speed, ultra-wide-angle lens for which so many photographers have been waiting. Going beyond fast shutter speed, this lens can capture a swarm of fireflies with crystal clarity, a beautiful bokeh effect, and outstanding control of light streaking.

By leveraging its extreme angle of view and the dramatic perspective this creates, this ultra-wide-angle lens can get up close and personal with a subject while at the same time taking in a vast background – an example of photography going beyond normal human vision.

It combines the extremely deep depth of field that comes from an ultra-wide angle of view with the extremely shallow depth of field that comes from f1.8 brightness.

From an early stage in the lens design process, flare and ghosting have been measured to establish an optical design resistant to strong incident light sources such as backlighting. SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting to help photographers produce sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions.

Mount with dust- and splash-proof construction

The lens mount incorporates rubber sealing to protect the mount from dust and water drops.

Best-in-class performance

This lens incorporates two FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements. In addition, it effectively arranges three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens to provide thorough correction of magnification chromatic aberration —encountered particularly in wide-angle lenses. This offers high resolution over the entire sensor, while sagittal coma flare is thoroughly corrected and distortion is also minimized to the fullest. Excellent performance is delivered in street photography, as well as shooting landscapes and night skies.
