The lens consists of one FLD glass element, three SLD glass elements, and three double-sided aspherical lenses that have been precisely arranged to achieve a body that is approximately 30% shorter and 50% lighter than its predecessor, the SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary.

The Sigma 15mm f1.4 Contemporary features a dust and splash-resistant structure,* while the lens has a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, that allows you to shoot confidently even in challenging outdoor conditions.

*The product is designed to be dust- and splash-resistant but is not waterproof. When using the lens near water, etc., take care not to allow large amounts of water to splash on it. If water gets inside the lens, it may cause a major malfunction and render the lens unrepairable.
